A 12 hour coronal polish course approved by the California Dental Board is offered. The two-day course provides comprehensive theory and clinical instruction, including the use of video, slide presentation and hands on clinical instruction. Upon completion of this course and all other state requirements for the RDA, you may perform the Coronal Polish procedure.

Beginning in 2002, individuals who wish to take the R.D.A. exam are required to have 12 months experience rather than the previously required 18 months. As of 2002, individuals must also show proof of completion of a California radiation safety course and coronal polish course before they can receive their R.D.A. license. Course Requirements: All students are required to participate as patients on the first day of the course. On the last day of the course, the student is required to provide two patients that are: 18 years of age or older, calculus free and have a moderate amount of plaque present. In addition to passing the clinical portion of the coronal polishing course, the student will also be required to pass a written final exam. CE Units provided upon completion of this course: 12 C.E. units.
